Ronda Fischer

Ronda is an Indiana native with a deep passion for art, nature and the creative process. She combined these three into a well‐matched career with a degree in landscape architecture from Purdue University which she continues today. In 2017, as life began slowing down, Ronda made the conscious decision to dedicate more time to her art. It was during this time that she discovered her love for the fluidity and flexibility of the challenging medium of watercolor. The subject of her work varies around her broad range of interests and her passion to challenge herself. She particularly enjoys painting scenes from nature, her travels and experiences as well as portraits that capture a special moment in time. She has most recently been experimenting with the use of strong color, creating depth and focusing on detail in hopes to create pieces that are eye‐catching from across the room.

Ronda is a member of the Watercolor Society of Indiana and has had several of her pieces accepted into juried exhibitions around the state of Indiana. She has also had a piece selected to hang in the Indiana Statehouse as part of the Hoosier Women Artists program.

Outside of painting, Ronda also enjoys working in mixed media creating small sculptural pieces from salvaged materials. You may find some of these items at local shows and festivals or seasonally on the Christmas tree in the Art IN Hand Gallery.
